TEACHING COLLECTION

Just over a hundred specimens are part of our teaching collection, including materials from Brazil, the USA and Europe. They are used during practical classes in Paleontology disciplines at the Department of Geology and also in scientific exhibitions associated with extension projects. Our teaching collection includes a small osteological collection, minerals and rocks, somatofossils of vertebrates and invertebrates, ichnofossils and microfossils.

SCIENTIFIC COLLECTION

The DINO-Lab has a transitional scientific collection that includes body fossils of vertebrates and invertebrates, as well as ichnofossils and paleohistological slides. The majority of this collection includes fossils of Pleistocene megafauna from Rio Grande do Norte and specimens from Potiguar and Araripe. In addition, there are also specimens from the Alagoas, Rio do Peixe, Paraná, and Bauru basins.
